What happens when your baby wears their amber teething necklace? The body heat triggers the release of a minute amount of oil from the amber that contains succinic acid. All of our Baby Teething Necklaces include safety features: individually knotted beads – if the necklace was to break you would only ever loose one bead not all the beads on the necklace. Plastic screw clasps – that will pop if enough pressure was put on them. Threaded on cotton threads – that are strong enough for long lasting wear but will break if enough pressure is put on them unlike silk thread which is very strong.
Amber teething Necklaces are designed to be worn and not sucked or chewed on, as such the amber teething necklace should be short enough that your baby can not get any of the beads into their mouth. Always check that the amber necklace cannot fit over the chin and into your child’s mouth but is not too tight against the neck. Never wear beads which are chipped or sharp.
