How would you describe Dry Skin?
Dry skin reacts to environmental influences, making it easily irritated and inflamed. Meaning your ability to repair and regenerate is weakened and your skin has a harder time to protect itself from pathogens. It lacks moisture and fats, making your skin have a dull and rough complexion and sometimes it may even start showing signs of premature ageing.
How can you best care for dry skin?
You need to replenish the lipids in your skin with rich nutritious creams to support the protective barrier and to rehydrate your skin. Look for creams with natural oils like almond oil to give your skin the nutrition it needs. It is also important to find a creamy cleanser that will not dry out your skin and a toner that will give your skin a deep hydration.
Gently cleanse your skin:
It is important to use a gentle cleanser that will not irritate or dry out your skin further. Use our creamy cucumber cleanser, as it combines almond oil which will soften your skin and create a protective barrier, cucumber oil which will help to improve and balance skin tone and restore proper moisture balance, smooth the skin’s surface and improve skin elasticity and grape seed extract to help boost collagen in your skin, which helps your skin stay firm, supple and moisturised.
Use a hydrating toning gel:
It is important to use a nutrient rich, alcohol free toning gel that is why we recommend our hydrating toning gel. This natural gel combines aloe vera gel to soothe and heal your skin, yucca extract as it is rich in antioxidants that have anti inflammatory properties to regenerate and soothe the skin, green tea extract to protect your skin from the damaging effects of free radicals and sweet orange essential oil to help promote the production of collagen and increase blood flow in the skin, making it helpful at soothing dry, irritated skin.
Use a nutrient rich face cream:
When you have dry skin it is important to find a rich cream that will help replenish your natural skin barrier and rehydrate your skin, this is why we recommend our Rose Restore Cream. This nutrient rich cream combines almond oil which will soften rough or dry skin and create a protective layer on the face, jojoba oil which is very effective in treating dry skin, as it is easily absorbed and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple, shea butter which protects your skin from UV sunlight, harsh climate, dehydration and pollution damages, kelp extract will nourish, protect and increase circulation and rose hip oil which has essential fatty acids to quench dry, sun-damaged skin.
Sun damage is one of the main causes behind dry skin, wrinkles and rough skin. The best ways to prevent damage is by wearing SPF 30 sunscreen all year round and dressing right.
Squirt a small amount of cucumber cleanser into wet hands and apply it to your face in a circular motion, making sure each spot gets covered. Keep massaging in a circular motion for thirty seconds to a minute. Then rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a towel, making sure you don’t rub your face, as this can encourage wrinkles and irritate the skin. You can also use on a tissue to take off makeup.
After washing your face with the cucumber cleanser. Smooth a small amount of toner onto face and neck, wait 30 seconds and then use a small amount of our rose restore cream; rub cream in your hands first to bring it to skin temperature, this will encourage absorption and then apply the natural cream in a firm but gentle pressing motion. Apply more cream to the affected areas.
