How would you describe impure/oily skin?
Impure skin tends to have a shiny appearance coupled with blemishes and impurities. This shininess is caused by excessive sebum (oil) production. Increased sebum production causes clogged pores, a build up of dead skin cells and bacteria; all of these factors cause impurities, inflammation and blemishes.
How can you best care for impure skin?
Although impure skin is caused by increased sebum production, your skin still needs the moisture from a light facial cream, this will keep your pores clean and prevent further impurities. It is also important to have a good cleansing routine that will remove excess oil and dirt without drying out your skin.
This pack includes: our Aloe Vera Foaming Cleanser, our skin rescue, our Avocado and Macadamia Light Facial Cream and our White Tea and Cucumber Cleansing Milk and Pumice exfoliant.
It is important to use a gentle, water-soluble cleanser twice daily. Make sure you use a cleanser that will clean your face without leaving a hint of residue and which does not contain any ingredients that will dry out your skin and it should be fragrance free. Our Aloe vera foaming cleanser is perfect for impure skin, as it is fragrance free and contains no harmful ingredients that will dry out your skin, instead this organic cleanser will nourish and hydrate your skin and promote the fast healing and regeneration of the skin. It has the added benefits of bitter orange and apple extract that have the ability to calm the over-active production of oil and to treat and prevent breakouts.
Make sure you use a toner!
It is important to use an alcohol free toner which is packed full of antioxidants and cell communicating ingredients. Our skin rescue is the perfect toner for impure/oily skin as it is packed full of antioxidants and cell communicating ingredients. This soothing toner combines cucumber, calendula and gota kola extract that are beneficial in the treatment and fast healing of damaged or problem skin and combines grape seed extract which helps your skin stay firm, supple and moisturised. Use to heal your skin, minimise large pores and remove dead skin cells or makeup which contributes to clogged pores.
Exfoliating is the most important step for people with oily skin. This is because people with impure skin tend to have an extra build up of dead skin cells and a thickened pore lining, which means when you exfoliate you will be removing that build up, reduce clogged pores and make your skin feel smoother. Our white tea and cucumber cleansing milk and pumice exfoliant is the perfect organic product to use, as it has been formulated to lift away surface impurities and make up while scrubbing off accumulated dead skin cells.
It is important to mositurise both morning and night after you cleanse. Use our Avocado and Macadamia Light Facial Cream, as it combines organic ingredients that will nourish and hydrate your skin, protect your skin from free radicals and it has the added benefit of bitter orange extract, which has the ability to calm the over-active production of sebum, or skin oil, making this the perfect organic face cream for impure skin.
Squirt a small amount of foaming cleanser into wet hands and apply it to your face in a circular motion, making sure each spot gets covered. Keep massaging in a circular motion for thirty seconds to a minute. Then rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a towel, making sure you don’t rub your face, as this can encourage wrinkles and irritate the skin.
After washing your face with the foaming cleanser, smooth a small amount of skin rescue onto face and neck, wait 30 seconds and then use a small amount of our light facial cream. Rub cream in your hands first to bring it to skin temperature, this will encourage absorption and then apply the organic cream with firm but gentle pressing motions.
Exfoliate your skin two to three times a week. I always suggest exfoliating before cleansing, as scrubbing first can remove residue, dead skin cells and dirt from the surface of your skin. Following with cleansing will help wash away any dead skin cells or particles that were lifted by the scrub. Try both ways; cleanse and then exfoliate or exfoliate and cleanse and decide what suits your skin better. Then apply the skin rescue and light facial cream.
